Google just recently announced a new feature with Gmail which is currently in Gmail Labs. This feature will allow an unread count to be added to the favicon of for now Chrome and Firefox browsers. Usually the unread count can be seen in the gmail tab but with features like Pin Tab used with Chrome and Firefox, its difficult to see the unread count when the tabs are been shrinked, but now with the new unread count on the favicon, one can easily see the number of unread messages even with the tabbed been shrinked.

Opera 11 which was officially released last month is really packed with kickass features which now put it at the forefront of the competitive browser war. Notable new features added among all other great features include Tab Stacking, Safer Address Field, Visual Mouse Gestures, Extensions and Mail Panel.
